Kodak/ActiveRain Challenge: So What Is A Good Closing Gift?

A closing gift can be a great way to make a lasting impression on your client. This gift is a great way of showing your appreciation for your client's decision to choosing you as their real estate agent. Your clients have many agents to choose from so be sure to thank them for their trust and business.

A closing gift should be as personal as possible. After all it's for your client so as you get to know your client you should pay attention to what they like and more importantly don't like. I'm a believer that an engraved gift conveying a personal message is a great way to make a lasting and personal impression.

Finding an engravable gift can be a challenge but I have found a couple of great ones. One of those and my personal favorite is wine glasses or stemware of some sort. I have found that most of my clients enjoy wine, champagne or some sort of wine product. In addition to the stemware I sometimes also include an ice bucket to help my past client chill their favorite wine product.

You can also actually have a wine product engraved. I have found a company that can actually engrave wine bottles with your own personal message to your client. What ever you decide to give your client as a closing gift, try and make it unique and personal to them. The Kodak digital frame is a great new idea that could really make a great closing gift because you can almost ensure that they will display it and enjoy it for many years to come.

So make your gift e memorable one and show your thanks to your client. I look forward to reading other peoples ideas on closing gifts on this contest and taking some of the suggestions into consideration with future clients.

I have also found that most of my clients enjoy wine which works out well as I live in Oregon Wine Country.  Many great choices.  Are you ordering your engraved wine glasses from somewhere or do you get them local?  That is a great idea!

Local products are a great idea, but I also like items with a long life.  The digital photo frame is a great idea!

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

The best gifts are ones that are thought out with the person receiving the gift in mind.  As you work with your clients they will give you clues to what they like and don't like.  Pay attention.  Books, wine, theatre, tools, things that grow like plants and trees...anything.  Rather than thinking one idea fits all clients I let the clients dictate to me what they like.

Victor I try to avoid the gift card thing- too generic.  I like personalized gifts. One of my best was a gift cert to my favorite photographer for a family portrait after the baby was born (first child).

A couple of engraved wine glasses is a great idea!  Do you put your phone number on there too?  (just kidding)
