How do you measure your success?
The other morning I was reading Tammy Lankford's post in Active Rain...my client thanks you SO much: a great success story with Zillow worth the read. She ended her post with a good question "How do you measure your success?" Her point being this was a lower price home compared to many of her lakefront properties she sells but it did not matter because the joy she felt from helping this client make her first home purchase was so rewarding.
I was asked recently "why did I get into Real Estate?" The real reason is I loved the thought I could apply my skills and help people navigate the process of listing and purchasing homes. I found the right Broker who emphasized if you always do the "right thing" the money will follow.
I found, like Tammy, the satisfaction I receive is not dependent on the price of the home thus the size of the commission check The measure of success is if I made a difference in the home buying experience to my client. What a natural high!! Life is good...
