One of the wonderful things about life in the Olympia, WA area is the number and diversity of parks available. There are waterfront parks (saltwater, lake and river), there are traditional playground kind of parks, there are dog parks, there are small neighborhood pocket parks, there are nature preserves with trails, there are sports parks. There are LOTS of parks.
We do have some state parks in the vicinity, but add to those the ones owned and managed by Thurston County, City of Olympia, City of Lacey, and City of Tumwater. So, pretty much where ever you live, you will find a park in walking or bicycling distance - and many more you can drive to for an outing.
Watch for my series of posts on individual parks I have visited and enjoyed, as well as discovering others right along with me - spring is here and parks are a great place to hang out and enjoy life!
