Dear Boss: I'm resigning effective immediately!

The reason for my resignation is that I cleaned my aunt's garage this morning before coming to work and realized I don't feel like working anymore.

Back many years ago there was this song that many people would have loved to say to their bosses. I wonder just how many people today would still do this if they all of a sudden found themselves with this kind of a windfall.

The thing that I have discovered and known for a long time is money doesn't buy you real friends, happiness or guarantee your life will be free from troubles. Money can cause a lot of problems even to those that have a lot of it. A recent example of that is Charlie Sheen. Money is a necessary commodity to live life. The thing it does do is give you options. It can make life easier in some respects but the bottom line is. Most people are as happy as they are going to be whether they have lots or a little money. If someone is a jerk before they had money then they would just be a jerk with money afterwards.

first I'm thinking if that is my aunts garage I better run cuz someone left it there or she stole it and either way it's not good.

Nope But I'd work it differently. I become more of a benefactor, buying homes, fixing them up, selling them to all the FHA first time home buyer who keep getting beat out by cash investors who are just looking for rentals. Heck maybe I'd even finance some of the folks who lost their homes to short sale, foreclosure who don't want to wait 5 years.

Not sure but I'd keep working - doing something - whether paid or not.

Susan-Love your attitude. I would probably buy all the houses that my boss has listed and then buy a house for some friends with her as the realtor. I also like your idea of helping out the folks who have had foreclosures. Losing a house myself that is near and dear to my heart. Thanks for stopping by.

Some of it Sharon is being good stewards of what we are given through our efforts. Some people have a sense of entitlement with money at some level, and like power it corrupts them. Man is not meant to sit around idle I don't believe.

Gary As you know God commands us to be good stewards with our money and only rewards us when we can manage what we have. Sadly there is a lot of that sense of entitlement in this country. Power does corrupt and idle hands are the devils workshop

Still have a pretty great head on your shoulders, Sharon. I bet that won't change.

But to be truthful about the matter above, if I found such a lump some of money ... I would be engineering some very serious social experients.

For example:

Running through the office building I currently work in (during business hours) draped in speedos with clamps attached to my nipples.
De-pants Gary Woltal.
Write a scathing Wikipedia entry on one Jason Sardi.
Drop a $100.00 bill in front of a stranger in a Banking Atmosphere. If they point that out to me and return it, I'd give them $1000.00 on the spot.
Start my own charity ... where hard-work and being nice to people would be the folks that charity's money went to.
And finally, de-pants Gary Woltal.
