Office Design - What Do Agents Want

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit Realty Denver Tech Center

We are excited to announce the opening of our new office in Cherry Creek.  As we begin the construction process we have been listening hard to our existing agents to understand what features in an office are most important to them.

Our current office in the Denver Tech Center has almost 6,000 SF that includes 2 conference rooms and training center, 7 private offices, bull pen area and a small break room.  The new office is considerable smaller with just 1400 SF plus a 400 SF balcony.  Our goal is to provide all the services we currently do in a much smaller space.  In the age of agent mobility agents now do not come into the office nearly as much or stay as long in the office when they do come in.

The focus of the new office is to have quiet areas within the space that provide privacy while not having private offices.  We will have a large conference area, a big work area with computers, printers and faxes in a high speed wireless environment that work 100% of the time.

We are looking for ideas and suggestions of great ideas you use in your office or have seen in others. Thanks for your comments.

Just a suggestion for your bull pen area:  Perhaps in an effort to give it a distinct but different feel, have long stretches of fabric 2 ft. in length hanging from the ceiling around each cubicle, and have accoustic sound dampening sponge gllued to the undersurface of the ceiling tiles.  That will cut down on sound travel within the room and from cubicle to cubicle.
