Mary Tyler Moor Inspired Design-The "M" on the Wall

Home Stager with Design2Sell

The M in the Room A large "M" graced the wall beside the front door of Mary Richards' studio apartment on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. It became a trademark of the independent diva's apartment and a symbol of the show. The unusual wall hanging was whimsical and is said to represent Mary's free spirit. The "M" followed her from her third floor studio apartment at the beautiful Victorian home to the larger one bedroom apartment in the fancy high-rise that she moved into later in the TV series.

This famous design element prompted Barbara Hei-Sonneck to integrate her version of the "M" into her Mary Tyler Moore Show inspired exhibit within The Total Wine and Design Exhibit at the 2011 Spring Atlanta Home Show. Come witness how she interprets the space and creates a retro modern design that honors the memory of the ground breaking sitcom.

Barbara - Does this mean we have to call you Rhoda from now on?!!!  Did you watch re-runs of the MTM Show for inspiration?  I used to love that show - it was very funny.  I'll never forget the episode where Rhoda decorates Mr. Grant's house all white.  Good times.
