I just finished watching The Social Network. Man, does that movie TICK ME OFF.
Why? Because he did it and I haven't. Yet. (Not that I'm into making the next Facebook, but I'm talking about fulfilling a vision.)
Let's put Facebook aside for a minute and just look at where VISION can take you.
How many "million dollar ideas" did you have this week? This year? Are you rich off of them yet? I sure hope so, but most of us just play the WHAT IF games. I wonder why?
Sure, I've got my list of great ideas and after watching what young Mark Z. did (aside from the back-stabbing etc) what made it work was taking that first step.
Like writing a blog. It's empowering to stop lurking and start creating. Start. Start. Start.
I've been reflecting on what TAKING ACTION looks like and I'm proud to act more often than I don't act. That's hard to say in life, but I'd rather FAIL then never know.
**** (To Jay: When you read this post a couple of years from now, know that you are holding yourself accountable for THAT IDEA that you've had in your head for a couple of months now. Are you going to do it, or what? Man up. Do it. Be brave, young man, and take that chance. Fail. Be okay with that. But you MUST try.) ****
I wonder how I feel when I look back at this post on March 26, 2013? (I just marked my calendar with this link.) Hopefully I can say, "Yes, that was the start of it. And look where we are today!"
Are you TAKING ACTION today on that thing you've been thinking about?
I am...
