As part of my class work in the Citizen's Police Academy, we had a day at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office gun range, which is, very aptly, located on Gun Range Road.
Ten of us had our range day yesterday, which was awesome! Basic overview of gun, safety, Glocks, and I had learned more in the first 10 minutes about guns than my whole life.
When we made our way to the range, each student was paired with an officer, and we were shooting their guns. It was exhilarating, and a bit intimidating as all 10 of us were firing at our paper targets at the same time! Distracting would be an understatement, as hot shell casings were flying all over the place in addition to the noise.
We shot Glocks, and in the afternoon, shotguns, semi automatic and full automatic weapons - the semi and full auto are REALLY fun to shoot!
