Contour Properties had 52% of the market share of commercial real estate transactions in Jackson Hole, WY for 2010.There are two very large real estate companies in Jackson Hole, and a host of smaller ones. Sotheby's International Realty, with some 119 licensed agents, loves to advertise their dominant market position, created, of course, by virtue of the number of agents in the office. The second largest firm, weighing in at around 88 agents, is Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates, and their advertising emphasizes that they are the largest locally owned real estate company. They both love to tout their international affiliations.

Great data!  I'd heard that about every other person who lives in Jackson held a RE license and it sounds somewhat true!  Your statistics remind me of that "15% of the people do 85% of the work" saying.....

Brenda: The real estate agents have been dropping like flies here since The Great Recession hit us. Now only 1 in 4 hold a license.

Judi: They work hard and sell a lot of residential real estate. I'm glad I don't compete with them in that arena.
