How Much Maine Land Do You Really Need?

There is a Maine land buying "kid in the candy store" knee jerk reaction when outside property acreage buyers see the low low prices.

maine land photo  And because it is some kind of crowded where they live now, they bring the same set of worries in to the Maine land buying experience.

Will there be a 300 lot house subdivision coming on line across the road?

Something they will wake up to that will make the Maine land purchase no different than where they ran away from in an urban, surburban market?

Or sometimes a Maine land buyer used to law suits gets antsy for other reasons.

What if someone gets hurt on their property, even though they are tresspassing?

Is there a nearby hardware store they ask?

For no tresspassing signs posted every ten feet and for keep out warnings with the skull and cross bones pirate looking image. And if there is a sense of humor they quip "Survivors will be prosecuted." That kind of talk happens at the Maine real estate closing . But we tell them you are thinking city. Welcome to Mayberry and that those no tresspassing signs are not needed and pretty ugly, unfriendly. Especially when the buyer wants to use the snowsled trail across my property and says I can not do the same on his.

There is plenty of space to not need to be on anyone's land anyway. But the attitude, the signal it sends is a bad one with those orange, black and white signs.

Northern Maine has 11 people per square mile. That is space, elbow room and we don't lock doors. Leave our keys in the cars, trucks, SUVs. Have battery jumper cables to use if I see your car parked on the side of the road.

So protection from someone building too close, or suddenly in your face is not needed in Maine.

The person building does want to be on top of you either out in the Maine country. One acre for a maine lake landsporting, recreation camp is plenty.

To explore the miles and miles, thousands and thousands of acres Maine offers, is famous for.

And if you want to a Maine hobby farm, homestead there are plenty of 40 acres lots and even bigger to raise, grow whatever you want easily.

Land is plentiful in Maine. Very affordable, even the waterfront properties.

If it is Maine land you hanker, you have come to the right place. See our land videos, the properties on Maine's waterfront too.

Maine, your heart and your head suddenly agree 100% on something very good, special in Vacationland.

So nice to read posts from someone who so obviously loves their state. And you're right, other people buying in Maine don't want to be in their neighbor's face either.

Joetta ... We're all after the same thing. A place in the sun, without an elbow in our face. Don't want to bother anyone and not cranked about having others bugging us. You need space to achieve that easily. Maine has it. And a recent trip to Colorado shows your state is prime for getting away from the mob, crowd.
