Billings Township and the CCC

Billings Township and the

CONCERNED CITIZENS COMMITTEE of Billings Township.

Every month I publish an outline of the Newsletter that is published by the CCC called the Eagle Eye.

One of the reasons I only outline is because some of the article are controversial.

Both the Billings Township and the CCC have points I agree with and disagree with.

The two above organizations are not friendly with each other.

This entry is to state my position.

Regarding the CCC

I am not part of the CCC

I publish it as a public service

I did not agree with the recent recall election (waste of our tax dollars).

I appreciate their concern and their devotion to asking the township to be responsible and accountable.

I also support their Random Acts of Kindness

Regarding Billings Township

I would like to see balanced acurate record keeping

I would like everyone to be treated with respect by every township official including the tax assessor

I would like to see the assessor accurately assess the properties

Regarding the Sewer System

I do agree there was a need for the sewer system in Billings Township to improve the quality of the lakes water.

I disagree with the layout of the sewer system along with some other aspects of how it has been done.

In summary, regarding

the sewer system, what is done is done (for now)

It was VERY much needed in some of the lakefront and canal waterfront communities....

the township, get your act together and keep it that way

the ccc, is a group of concerned citizens.....

Why don't we work together just a little bit........

This is the exact reason the township is in such upheaval!  This woman is just like the rest of the ccc, never attends the meetings, checks out 'facts' before making statements.  I certainly won't be recommending this sales person for any real estate transactions to any of the people, and I know lots.  Shame on you, Marilyn Harrell, for not asking for the 'other side' before posting!!!

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I do find Lynn Stacy’s comment quite humorous. A threat from a politician not to refer anyone to the disagreeing party. The funny thing is, I bet Lynn hasn’t referred anyone yet, so the threat not to do so in the future is just a bunch of hot air. Politicians tend to work those under-the-table deals with family and friends, as well as financial contributors anyway.

Now if Lynn had already referred lots of people to you, and you angered her, she might have a legitimate beef. Such, I suspect, is not the case. Even then, though, I do business with people with whom I disagree; by doing so, it continues to remind me of how right I am and how wrong they are. LOL

If you get involved in politics, you have to be prepared to have the other side be upset, and with Beaverton having a population of around 1,100 people, can you afford to have people upset? I live in a metropolitan area with 1.3 million people and a county with 3 million. I don't have political bumper stickers (or any bumper stickers) on my car because I like to live in peace. I do my civic duty by voting in every election, and if I'm on the losing side, well, that's life in a representative democracy.

Just to let you know that the Billing township sewer patrol is on the move. Letters are in the mail to thousands of people on the sewer, that are paying there monthly and yearly bills. The letter say that the township has no record of their hookup and the are being fined for no inspection for inproper sewer hookup.

It is up to each property owner to defend there inspection with paperwork. As an state licenced electrician, I can tell you that only a few inspector provide paperwork more that a sticker. So if this goes through and the court supports the fines. Everyone is at risk, people with sewer, septic tanks,  electrical, wells,  or just a building will have to provide proof it was made and inspected properly.

We all need to stand or fall on this together! Everyone elected does the same thing no matter what they say. Why?
