Reflections of WWII The Way We Were

Yesterday, while visiting Pottstown Airport's 4th Annual Community Day, I came across the coolest exhibit I've seen in quite some time.  I'd have to call it Living History.  From the outside, what you see is a huge trailer with stairs entering/exiting from each end. As you walk closer, you hear music from the 1940's coming from a vintage radio in what looks like someones living room in 1941.  You enter the trailer to find that you are indeed walking through a home from the 1940's.  The kitchen contained a wringer washer and an ice box called a "Coolerator", the bedroom, living room and even the bathroom were layed out as if you'd stepped back in time as well.  Each room had it's own "character" dressed in traditional clothing from the era to tell you about what was "going on" in the house (and history) that very day in 1941.  The children were so mesmerized by seeing what life was actually like "back in the day" not just reading about it in a book.

This is a new project called the American Home Front House and is traveling across the area to bring living history to the masses.  If you are interested in bringing this truly unique display of living history to an event in your area you can visit http://www.geocities.com/reflectionsofww2/reenactors.html . If you are a history buff of this era...I assure you, you won't want to miss this display!
