Lake Murray Real Estate Update 03-28-2011

Fulmer and Krause Win Seniors Tournament - Thirty boats took off from Dreher Island last Thursday, but only fourteen boats came in with a five fish limit. Of those fourteen, a scant four had double digit weights. Randy Fulmer and John Krause easily won with their 17.66 pounds of bass. Second place with 15.69 pounds of bass were Sammy Crouch and Billy Howell; third place with 13.28 went to Don Sky and Tom Weigand; while the team of Marvin Brown and Eddie Sloop had the last double digit bag weighing 11.34 pounds. Five fish and 9.85 pounds garnered fifth place for Bob Kramer and new member Jack Hamby. Bud Dalton and Jim Safley took sixth place with 9.8. Both these men are the current leaders in the Championship point race in a season that is only one fourth done. Seventh place went to Earl Mueller and Jimmy Norris with 9.57, while Sam Gray and Clint DeBrand had 9.05 pounds to claim Eighth place. Ron Wood and Dave McClintic took Ninth Place with 8.83 while David Larrabee and Roger Isaac snuck into tenth place with 8.46 pounds. The 2011 edition of the Tommy Whiteside Regatta – A handful of Multihull sailors from all over the south joined the fleet of local Sunfish and cruiser sailors to sail in the annual Tommy Whiteside Regatta. Saturday the wind ranged from none to light, but Sunday, Ah! A racing sailors’ dream come true. The age of the sailors ranged from 16 to “more than 60” the real standout was 16 year old Amber Parshall who earned a 3rd place trophy in the Sunfish class by successfully challenging a fleet of skilled sailors more than twice her age. With winds ranging from 13 to 19.6 knots and steady from the South South East (thanks Monica Syzmanski for the wind info) even the hardiest sailors were challenged as they sailed for the trophies. In the 3 multihull classes the challenging conditions made the races even more thrilling than usual. Special thanks must go out to Dick Dommel for a superb job of Race Committee. Race Results 2011 Tommy Whiteside Sunfish class First Dayton Colie, Second John Young and Third Amber Parnell. PHRF Non-Spinnaker First Wil Haltiwanger, Second Fred Piehl and Third Frank McKinnon – PHRF Spinnaker First Hootie Bushardt, Second Frank Pierce and Third Steven Rose.
