A Mom can brag on her son right? Check out his Blog about Fishing in Portland
When I was a young girl, my father would take my sisters and I out on his boat on the Great South Bay, on Long Island. He taught me a love for fishing.
At the time the Bay was full of blowfish and flounder and catching the occasional eel was really excitiing watching that rod bend completely to the water.
Going to summer camps, I would head down to any pier, slide that worm over my hook and wait for those sunfish or catfish to bite. Aaah..the thrill of it as well as the memory of those lazy days just catching rays, and relaxing while waiting patiently for a fish to bite.
My friends would look at me with discust as I would scale and gut the fish caught. This was fun to me as a young girl! (oh, I played with barbies as well...lol)
I've lost this as I've gotten older as many things go and can say the last time I was out on a boat with a rod and reel was when I was in my early twenties. A LONG time ago. My boys were raised in El Paso, so not really much fishing going on there and since we didn't go much (my hubby not a big fan), the boys never got to experience this.
My younger son is soon to be 21 in a couple of months and in this past year or so has caught the fishing bug BIG time. You KNOW how they just sleep lots...well since he's been enjoying fishing, there are times when I am just getting up and he is walking in the door. No..not from a night out partying, but from a morning out fishing.
He has his own blog about fishing in Portland, that he's been working on. The lure drawings his own. We have some nice mother/son bonding moments when we talk about blogging. I did suggest that he copyright his drawings as to me they are really good. ( I know, I'm a Mom so might be biased).
So a mom can brag on her son right? please go check out his blog about Steelhead, Salmon and Trout Fishing in Portland.
