Four years ago I had the Garden Show appear on North Idaho Business. It was the first year the show was to be at the Bonner County Fairgrounds. Sean Gavin of Mountain View Construction was on that show, and he appeared again with John Knowles, Construction President of the Panhandle Building Contractors Association. The PBCA puts on the show. Prior to that the Garden Show had been at the Bonner Mall, and while it was a good show, it was limited by space.
Moving to the Fairgrounds offered not only more space, but the ability to build on site, do substantial landscaping displays, as well as other displays that the multi-use outdoor/indoor space allows.
In the last couple of years, students have built on-site, there is BBQ and beer, and it is as much like a fair as it is a building fest.
This year there are a couple new twists. First, Ask a Pro offers professionals that wander the show giving advice from plumbing to new methods, such as in-floor heating and design.
Another new wrinkle is the large booth for demonstrations.
The show will have a raffle giving away prizes, including a barbeque grill, tools, and other great giveaways.
The Home & Garden Show is a great place to get ideas for new projects, if you are thinking of building a new house, home repairs, landscaping, and to see the new products, tools, and gadgets that are on HGTV, but at least here you can hold them in your hands. Plus, there is something for all ages and it is a fun time for the whole family.
The show is sponsored by Probuild and a host of others, and best of all, it's FREE! The similar shows in Coeur d'Alene and Spokane have an entrance fee.
The hours are:
April 9th & 10th
Saturday 9am - 5:30pm
Sunday 10am - 4pm

I'll try to post a bit of the video of this interview later this week on YouTube.
