Baseball Catcher

FOREVER!!!  How long is FOREVER?  It is Baseball Time in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and two of my grandsons are right in the middle of it all.  My oldest grandson is playing travel ball, and younger brother is playing T-ball.  This past Saturday, I asked Nathan (4 y.o.)  if he like playing firstbase, and he informed me that "I'm a catcher FOREVER!"  I said, "Forever is a long time.  Do you know how long Forever is?"  Instantly, and with all seriousness, he said,"It's all the way to China, Granddad!"

I began thinking about his commitment to being a catcher FOREVER: all the way to China

To be successful in this real estate market: to be effective as an agent in Nashville, Tennessee, in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee , or in Cottontown, Tennessee  requires being so committed, being so single-minded, and so willing to go the distance that I must resolve to be "A REALTOR® FOREVER: all the way to China!"  I can do it--I love real estate as much as he loves baseball.  I'm willing to devote my time & energy.  As Yogi Berra might say, "Forever is a long time, especially when it takes so long."

Now, I have to admit, I'm not as handsome in my uniform as is "HOT SHOT."  But I do have the edge on him in experience.

That is one cute catcher! I love baseball too!! The thought of not having a baseball player in the family is sad as mine is growing FAST! Seems just like yesterday he looked like the little fellow in the photo...

Looking For Homes With A Smile

Melissa,

I passed your kind words on to my daughter.  Nathan is the middle son of three.  He often has some interesting observations, and he makes Granddad enjoy life.  I have six grandsons, and each has a unique slant on life.  They are far more joy than I had ever invisioned.  And my three granddaughters bring a sweetness to my joy.  I often tell folks, that if I die without a nickle to my name--I die a rich man.

Last fall, we went to Kentucky to watch another grandson play ball, and there was a monument at the ball park in memory of a young man who had played ball for all 17 years of his life.  Nathan, wanted to know about the monument, the boy, and how he died.  Weeks later, he was still asking perceptive questions about that boy.

It does seem to be one of life's harshest realities: Our children do not remain children long enough.  Hug him everyday, tell him you love him, you are proud of him and hang on to every memory.  My baby will be 36 in a few weeks.  My son just turned 41, and my other daughter will be 38 in August.  It is amazing that my wife remains 35, and I'm still 16.  She is the adult in the household.  "Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet!"
