We meet again. So, are you feeling pretty fabulous now that your junk drawer is clean and the pantry is organized? I'll go ahead and say it, I do! I always feel better when my home is in order. Today I spent less than 15 minutes on our task, clearing the kitchen counters.
I have a terrible habit of accumulating odds and ends on my kitchen counter. I tend to put everyday things into a pretty container then leave it in plain site. Eventually the counters are covered in knick knacks and there is no room to make even the simplest of meals. If my house were for sale, a prospective buyer would think that the kitchen lacks counter space. Nothing could be further from the truth. Believe it or not, I have twenty linear feet of counter plus an eight foot breakfast bar! But a buyer would never see it. 
Stop the madness! I started by simply putting things away. I stowed the non-essentials out of sight. The items that I left on the counter are simple and clean. I cleared the pots and pans from the stove top and did away with the dish towels. The stove is a fixture to the home. So remember, buyers are going to be looking at it. Make sure it is always super clean. If you have a built in microwave, keep an eye on the spatters since buyers will probably open it.
You might feel like you are stripping your kitchen of personality. That's okay. The goal is to create a space that the next homeowner can visualize themselves preparing their next holiday meal in. It should be clean and efficient. 
Tomorrow we will continue preparing your home in Edmond or NW Oklahoma City for sale one project at a time. I think that tomorrow we will move out of the kitchen and into the office area. See you then.
