Mt. Juliet is a community full of heart. In the past year Mt. Juliet has lost two young girls (Savannah Swandal from cancer and Ava Bright from complications after tonsil surgery), causing our community to unite and try to lift up the families of these girls. Seas of bright green ribbons covered houses, cars and mailboxes; and people everywhere wore lime green. Everyone did this in the hopes that Savannah’s family would feel supported.
This Saturday, April 2nd, another Mt. Juliet family will honor the memory of their daughter, Avalyn Shaye Bright, with Ava’s Run for a Reason at Charlie Daniel’s Park. The Bright family founded the Avalyn Shaye Foundation in order to complete a number of things they thought would bring joy to the children in Mt. Juliet as well as families facing the illness of a child and stays in Pediatric Intensive Care. Ava’s Run for a Reason will raise funds to build a splash pad in Mt. Juliet for children to enjoy and aid the Foundation in their other efforts like providing preschool scholarships.
We are excited to be sponsors of this event, and proud to be part of such a caring, supportive community. Come out and see us and enjoy some fresh air and exercise for a good cause.
