Thankful Thursdays - Spring has Sprung
For many weeks our semi-arid area of California, the Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose, has been deluged with rain. Trees have fallen, roads have slipped, landslides have occurred.
Not so any more -- it is glorious here this week.
People are out in droves, soaking up the warmth, buying bedding plants and vegetable seedlings for their gardens, hiking, cycling, strolling, dining al fresco.
We're a happy bunch, and a thankful one.
We're still waiting for some warm southerly breezes to lure us out side. The flowering plums trees are about finished but the tulips in our yard a about two weeks out. The Skagit Valley Tulip festival begins tomorrow.

It was a glorious day in the Bay Area today Lottie. Unfortunately I got hit by the flu yesterday so I could not enjoy it too much.

Doug, there's definitely some bug going around; I'm never sick, but felt crummy the last two days. My R&R day working in San McDonald Park cured me, I think--although it's definitely an early night tonight. Get well soon, my friend.

Oooh, thanks for the lovely photos! I kept trying to get my car dash thermometer today - 103 at times! Crazy. My newly planted annuals are NOT liking it...

Cara, temps are fluctuating wildly everywhere it seems. Our drop was 21 degrees today

Mt. Diablo it is, Russel, taken by my friend, Blanche Shamoon, from Sibley Preserve, one of the parks on the ridge separating Orinda from Oakland/Berkeley.
