As I sit here writing this my heart is still racing, my blood still pumping and memories are still being filed. But I wanted to take a moment and share with you one of the great things the City of Olathe has to offer it's residents.
It is as simple as the Indian Creek Greenway Trail that ends in Olathe. Where it starts I haven't made it to, yet. Today my fifteen year old son and I picked up the trail at approximately 140th & MurLen, right where MurLen goes over Indian Creek and the corresponding trail. We've ridden it to the end heading SW. That's down around 154th and Lindenwood at Southdowns Park. Today, however, we headed NE.
When we reached just north of 127th & Pflumm the trail leaves Olathe and heads into Overland Park's responsibility. We chose to ride on all the way to 119th & Quivira before heading south on Quivira, back to 143rd and then west to home. An eleven mile venture that allows you to just relax and enjoy a little bit of nature right here in the midst of suburban sprawl.
Along the way we found other bicyclists and joggers. Kids being pulled in wagons and squirrels breaking open the fresh supply of walnuts. Read on.
