Wellington Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Is A Heap of A Hit!
I am the Cub Scout Wolf Den leader for our Scout pack in our Church.
Our little 8 year old son is a Wolf Cub and just earned his gold arrow and two silver arrows. He loves scouting and I look forward to him becoming an Eagle Scout when he is about 16 years old.
We had our Cub Scout Pinewood Derby event this week. The Wolves, the Bears and the Webelos were all there taking part in the races. It was so much fun. I remember going to Pinewood Derby with our oldest sons who are all grown up now. It is still the same track as 22 years ago!
Our son won third place for his car racing in the Pinewood Derby. He was so proud that he won. The Cub Master and all of us Scout leaders could not remember a time when a young Wolf Cub even placed in the Derby because as the boys get more practice and they get older they learn more about how to get their cars to go faster in the derby.
Enjoy the movie I made of the different Heaps in the Derby from the great easy iMovie software that comes with our Mac Computers! I took the video with our Nikon P6000 and then uploaded it to my big iMac so that I could get a nice visual of the parts I wanted to keep. I added a couple of still shots of our grandchildren and our son at the end with his medal and displaying his winning car. Then I added some transitions that come with the new iLife update for iMovie. Ah, how fun this is!
