Interview? I just want to look at Claremore homes!

You've started searching the internet for your new home and have found several possibilities. You contact OklaHomes Realty to find someone to show you the home you've dreamed about while searching. But when you reach me, Jim Courtney, I'm going to have a few questions. Why? All you want to do is look at Claremore homes. I'm going to ask questions because it's important in order to help you narrow down your search to that perfect home. So what questions am I going to ask? Here's just a few...
Questons Lead to Success
How soon (when) do you need to buy?
It's important to establish a timeline for your purchase. The real estate market changes often and your timeline may affect your options. When do you need to move? Are you on a timeline that requires special circumstances on the seller's behalf? Is your timeline going to limit our search options?

How long have you been looking?

I need to determine how long you have been searching for your new Claremore home. Is your search criteria realistic? Are you searching for something considered unique in our area? Are you searching for something specific for a reason?

If you found a home today....
     a) What would you do?
     b) Would you buy it?
If we find the perfect Claremore home for your family are you ready to make the committment? Have you already obtained preapproval or have proof of funds in hand? Is the decision
maker touring with us or do we have to schedule 2nd tours?

City of Claremore LogoAre you working with a real estate agent now?
I have a great working relationship with other agents in our community. If you are already working with another Claremore agent, please be respectful of thier hard work and the relationship you share. If you have selected me as your REALTOR®, I promise to be respectful of your wants, needs, and dreams. I will do my very best to help you find the perfect home for your family.

The questions may seem like an interview to see homes for sale or perhaps to even work with me. But be assured that my interest is helping you to be successful in your new home purchase. The answers to these questions will help us to establish your criteria, your motivation, and your family needs. Why do I interview new clients who contact me?

Simple...What Matters to YOU, Matters to ME!

Jim,

Good post, very valid points.  I have wasted time that would not have happened if I had taken the time to meet first and ask some of these questions.

Nice post! Many of our clients come to us woefully ignorant of what our jobs are, thanks for making it so clear :)

The question I am trying to remember to ask is, How soon do you need to get settled? The answer to this will answer 5 more questions and they won't even realize it!
