Mother Nature says April Fool's Day to Chester County, PA

I awoke this morning to a blanket of snow! Seriously? It's April 1! I realize that the expression "Man plans, God laughs" is true and I'm thinking we have all planned on an early spring and God had another idea!

For this reason, because the weather is so unpredictable, we can not plant annuals until Mother's Day! That's where I'll be on Mother's Day, when I am not watching Max play soccer, which he seems to do every mother's day... I'll be in my garden, planting my annuals.

It's Friday and snowing in Chester County! We need to take the good with the bad!

Hi Susan - As we all keep saying here in CT, at least this late in the season, the snow is unlikely to stick around for long. There's got to be some consolation for snow in April!!

Hi Susan - No snow down here. We've had some chilly, gray, rainy days this week...but the sun is supposed to pop out anytime NOW and give us some 60+ degree weather for the weekend. I'll send some up your way! My annuals are sitting in my garage...bought them a week ago...but, we had a frost warning...so they are going to finally get put in the ground tomorrow! Don't ya just love digging in the dirt ;-)

Susan, I always love that God laughs quote about our plans, cause I see it more often than not and your SURPRISE there on April Fools is a perfect illustration. The moral of the story is not to plan, but be flexible, keep your eyes wide open for "reality" and adjust accordingly. Even with the blanket of snow don't put a judgment on it with WTH? But enjoy the surprises, good ones and bad ones, as they are just something to work with. We are in a drought in Texas since about December so for April we need some moisture.
