This week's spotlighted pet holds a special place in my heart. Mel and our boys came across her while hiking a couple weekends ago. They played with her a little and went on their way. The next day, she showed up at our house, dirty, underfed, but sweet and gentle. So Mel called the sheriff (animal control in our county) and he took her to the shelter. When no one claimed her during the waiting period, she was put up for adoption. Mel still talks about going to get her, but we already have four dogs ourselves.
Zoe is a SPAYED female German Shepherd, we're guessing around 1 year old. She is a beautiful dog and shows some of the typical German Shepherd family traits. This sweetie has a lot of energy, gets overly excited at seeing other dogs and absolutely loves the water. She needs a new owner who can put in the time, love and energy that she needs to have better manners. Zoe loves to play fetch and we can already tell she is very smart. With a little TLC and firm discipline she will flourish. She thrives on affection and kindness.
