When you walk your talk you don't need to prove yourself to anyone. When you are on top of your game you will get attacked. I remember when I reached 1 Million points on Active Rain I received a comment saying congratulations and condolences at the same time. This is because when you rise to the top of any business, platform or area in life- there are those who will do all they can do discredit you or try to take you down.

The best analogy for this is the story of the crabs. When you go crabbing you trap your crabs. Then you put them all in a pot. After you put them in the pot one of the crabs will try to escape from the pot. One crab will start to climb up to try to get out of the pot but all the other crabs will pull back down. 

There are people who treat others this way. Some people can not stand on their own merit or they feel so threatened by another person's success that they will assume to know what someone else is doing or thinking, pass judgments on them without ever even speaking to that person and then attempt to try to place holes in their reputation. 

But at the end of the day, when all is said and done... the  walking is doing the talking. I have been on Active Rain for almost 4 years and know a lot of members. I have met many members and have become very good friends with them. 

Not only that, but anyone who truly knows me knows that I pay it forward in the rain. I don't think I would ever have to prove that truth. It is the intention on which I started in the rain and still holds true to this day. 

Nestor and I are full time real estate agents. Nestor is the broker of our company that we own. We opened up our company in 2005 after being top agents with Re/Max locally here in our town for many years and prior to that we both worked for different independent boutique brokers where we each were top agents in those offices as well. 

In 2006 I began my journey of searching and learning about marketing online including learning about SEO. I tell my story in my classes and many of you know my story of why I did this and what my goals were. We got taken advantage of by so many SEO companies and webmasters that we just turned all our online stuff off! We went totally off line in 2002. All the money we had spent since 1997 online did not bring us a good ROI. So in 2006 I decided that I had to learn from real SEO gurus how to do SEO. I spent thousands of dollars in workshops, webinars, classes and seminars to learn what to do this time around. We started to apply what we had learned. Then we found Active Rain. The rest is history. 

Agents started to ask us how did we get so many listings from blogging and I began to teach them. That evolved into a fantastic and rewarding coaching business. I would be very stupid to show my competition what search terms we rank for and why. That would not make much sense. So when SEO people start assuming things of which they know nothing about because they can not read my or your minds- don't believe them. They don't have any facts to back them up. 

If you want to investigate whether someone knows what they are doing or not, ask their clients- not where they rank but how much money they have made or how many buyers and sellers they recieved and are working with from their SEO

Read the testimonials of those who have taken our SEO webinars and even the FREE Realbird webinars that I teach- to see that they say with their own free will that when they follow my SEO tips and lessons, they rise to the top of Google and Yahoo and Bing. 

I have many SEO clients who are in very competitive real estate markets are are on top for very competitive keywords and they are not going to post all over the world what those keywords are because then their competition will know what they are working towards. 

So for anyone to tell you that they know what you are ranking for- they don't. And just to set the record straight, I don't try to rank for anything for SEO related business because ALL my clients come from my Active Rain blog and I am so busy with clients and creating great products for our clients and for all of you that I don't even have the time to build a website on SEO coaching. I do it all right here on Active Rain. 

The keywords that we do work to rank for and are ranking for are keywords to get real estate listings. That is the biggest part of our business. We have been awarded by Google for being in the top 1% of ALL local businesses and local business search. We get the calls from our online marketing, We get the closed deals. We are now back to getting about 3 listings a week from our Active Rain blog like we did in 2008 and 2009. 2010 we had  a dip in online listings because of the robo-signing issue and the HAMP program put a damper on our short sale prospect calls. Now that all those homeowners are finding out that the HAMP program is not working for them, they are calling again in the same volume as in 2008 and 2009.

Dave #31- I am very sorry that the flare ups happen. Even Bob Stewart went to the post that started all of this and stated his opinion that I was only disagreeing with an opinion. Because of that one disagreeing comment which I made, with no offense intended, no name calling in that comment, etc.... this entire flare up ensued.

Wow... Just wow! You are absolutely correct! There can be very little revenue for ranking at Google with 'SEO Blog Coach" as real people aren't searching for it! Anyone who's studied SEO even for a few months would know that - and if they told the truth to their clients rather than selling smoke and mirrors...? Ugh.

And Katerina, I've enjoyed your posts and I appreciate that you don't stuff 50 links back to your site in each one. I'm certain that if I were ever to post a comment here where I disagree with you on some point, we could have a sane and rational discussion and perhaps learn from each others perspective. I would expect that with the majority of terrific AR members.

Just know for every supportive comment you get here, there are most certainly hundreds more that are lurking but also support you.

Your reputation preceeds you and you're most certainly "walking your talk."

Holy Smokes!  Well, I must say this has been very interesting :)!  I made it over here because of Lenn's post.  I am glad I did, because I am looking for a way to get more listings and you may be just the folks that can help me :)!  I have zero clue when it comes to SEO and getting my website to do better and I have already spent lots of money on stuff that didn't work.  So, anyway, I may be looking at your website soon :)!  

And just a thought...Isn't what that individual doing a form of cyber bullying?  I don't want to say anything more cuz I am kind of scared :)!

Katerina, you are so professional and I read your comment on the original post and it was not in any way bashing anyone. You expressed your opinion. You have a right to do so. If a writer doesn't want anyone to disagree, then disable comments. But to state an opinion on a controversial topic and NOT expect anyone to say anything, well, that is someone who doesn't understand how AR works.

My two cents for what their worth.....

I subscribe to all three of the parties involved in what is now becoming ridiculous.  I am in need of all the help I can get with SEO.  I also just recently "retired" my static website,  so I will be in need of one of those too.

From a consumers point of view this is a huge turn off and is quickly changing my mind who to hire!!!  I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

On the Personal side as a member of a COMMUNITY... Katerina and Inna stop defending yourselves, your work already does that for you.

I dare anyone to take your coaching and not say WOW !!.

 If any of you have taken coaching, you know most coaches call you one a month or every two weeks for maybe 30 minutes. I can tell you Katerina Called me once a week and we spoke for as long as it took to Move to the Next Step for me...many times we were on the phone for 2 hours...then the emails and Homework started Roiling in ....in  Waves.

I think I still have emails from Katerina I haven't read..haaa..

Katerina I'm not sure why anyone would bash you or anyone else here...if you don't agree move on.

Hi Katerina. I can't believe that for some people business is so slow that they feel compelled to diss YOUR business. I would not have known who it was if s/he did not reveal herself.
