The King's Orchard :)

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams - BV 581856

It's SPRINGTIME and the pickin' is easy!  Yesterday morning a friend and I went strawberry picking at THE KING'S ORCHARD. Currently, you can go out and pick strawberries, butterhead lettuce, and Texas Rhubarb.

Before Friday, I had never been to The King's Orchard, though I had heard about it through the grapevine. I'm SO glad we went, and so is my family --the recipients of these delicious strawberries (which are almost GONE, BTW!).

FYI: We were told by the owner that the BEST time to come is on Tuesday, if you can work it!  Since, they are closed on Monday, it gives the strawberry patch some time to recover...and what was partially green on Sunday may be fully ripened on Tuesday.

The King's Orchard is located at 11282 County Road 302, Plantersville, TX 77363.  The phone number is 936-894-2766  GPS users, type in 11282 Finke Rd. Todd Mission, TX,  No Zip.  You may call ahead of time to see how pickin' conditions are.  Or visit their website www.kingsorchard.com.  Hours of operation are from 8AM - 5PM Tuesday through Sunday.  Happy Pickin!

You are welcome, Doug!  King's Orchard also grows blackberries (May thru July), blueberries (early June-mid July) and figs (late July - September) for prospective pickers.

Trey, we saw lots of little ones searching the strawberry plants and picking. There are picnic tables in a shady spot, so you can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy, too. I'm sure your grandson would love it! :)

Our strawberry season starts in June and I can't wait for my wife to make those preserves, shortcakes, etc.
