For the first time, St. Michael is offering to rent gardening plots* to residents of St. Michael and Albertville. Gardeners will pay a small season fee to rent a plot from May through mid-October.
The garden plots will be located on Frankfort Parkway just East of Naber Avenue in St. Michael, across the street from JATC Technical School.
So, if you have a green or brown thumb, you might want to give this a go for your vegetable gardening needs this year. You might note that the plots for the year have all been rented, but, put your name on the waiting list, and you might get lucky. And, maybe they will expand the program for next year! If the demand has already outpaced the space, they probably will look for additonal space because the City, of course, needs all the income it can generate.
