Looking at the evening blog roll and ran into Michael Thornton's Into ActiveRain, Some Life Must Fall…, then Cindy «in Indy» Marchant-Fishers' OMG...I'm having withdrawal systems AR!
It is about another snafu, the «Service Unavailable», and the frustration of members. There is a side which is touching. Many of us do not even understand the level of attachment until we are faced with inability to post, or to comment, or to even log in.
Usually optimistic members then say that it is fine now and they hope it will be fine from now as the problem has been fixed.
Nope, problems are not behind, they are recurring, and fixing is in the future, and not only in the past. Nice thought, though...
Members know that periodic fixes is an unpleasant part of life, like Special Assessments are part of condo life, for example...
But what about customers who are bumping into AR? Cindy spent a day trying to log in, Michael spent hours trying to log in, but which customer in their sound mind would spend not a day, not hours, not even a minute trying to open a page, which either refuses to download at all, or takes forever?
That's not going to happen. I think this is the problem that AR is facing, and for some reason they keep quiet about it. They either have something up their sleeve, which I doubt very much, since this «magic sleeve» was promised so many times before, or they just can't change it and are trying to navigate to survive.
But how can a social network survive if you can't be social on it so often and for so long?
Sometimes it feels like we are witnessing a suicide in slow motion
