How I have fun in this business

Everyone knows you have to market yourself to the nines and make it known, your a real estate agent and what you can offer to the public is genuine and unique.  So, here is what I do that separates me from the rest... It may or may not work for you but its probably worth a shot.

  • I bought/made 6 directional signs for Open Houses and directional signs for House For Sale with my name on it.  People know where the house is for the most part but should see my sign and my name on average 4 times before they come in the house.
  • My car has stickers all over it with my name, number, RE/MAX balloon (on order), website and call-to-action.  I put on about 3000 km's per month driving all over the city.  I usually hear of about 5 new people each week who see me out driving around.  Most think I am going on appointments too!  If they think you're busy, its a good sign.
  • I am at the gym everyday of the week doing cardio and weight training with my "branding"shirt on.  It says, my name, brokerage and call to action.  Most people will come up and ask about the market which just excites me even more to start my speech.
  • On first, 15th and end of the month I am at the mall looking for people i know.  This is when most people get paid from their jobs and are most likely to be out spending money.
  • On a Saturday afternoon, I am at Wal-Mart!  I do suggest you bring some Tylenol because those lines and the crowds can get overwhelming.  Most of the time I dont buy anything but that place is a goldmine to meet people.
  • Any kind of sporting event, I'm there!  Always a good time to have a drink and find someone you know.  Be sure to wear something that outlines you're a Realtor.
  • During any kind of election, I get my own VOTE Kevin Turner for Local Realtor!  People are looking for signs so why not get yours out there too!

These are just a few systems I use to get my name out to the public and do it in a different way.  Most of the time its entertaining for me and doesn't cost a lot of money.  Once you find out where people and buyers are, have some fun and be sure to study good terminology on how to convert those acquaintences into word-of-mouth advertising machines!
