Begin the week with orchids

March was a big month for orchid shows and sales. It is still a good time to purchase plants that were featured in exhibits. Many gardens have now turned to their spring displays. Dolores and I attended a camellia show and sale at Brookside Gardens in the Wheaton Regional Park in Montgomery County, MD over the weekend. We were allowed to photograph the blooms while the judging was taking place and before the exhibit was open to the public.

This group of photographs is from the Maryland Orchid Society Show and Sale which was part of the Maryland Home and Garden Show at the Timonium Fairgrounds.

Please share photographs from your special places in the comments for this post.

Good morning Gita, Elizabeth and Michael.

Gita: You need to have the knowledge and the willingness to provide the care to be an orchid grower. Go to some of the shows and join an orchid society group in your area if you are interested.

Michael: Blue orchids are featured in some of the shows. I expect there is information on the internet on creating blue orchids.

Elizabeth: Thanks for sharing your photograph. Beautiful!

Good morning to all. Thanks for your comments and support. We have a beautiful sunny Monday morning in Maryland. Many will be thinking about there gardens.

Prospective home buyers are trying to take advantage of the very attractive home prices in Maryland and are anxious to lock in the very low mortgage interest rates. FHA buyers are trying to get case numbers assigned before the increase in the cost of the mortgage insurance that will take place on April 18th.
