Hi Wayne, We did our First Blogging Seminar in April and it was well received. We were very thankful...as that was a day in which almost a foot of unexpected snow was dumped in the Grand Rapids area. :) This seminar will review the basics but will also give more in-depth instruction for individuals who want to know how to enhance their blog and position it more effectively to reach their clients.
We are also finding that the elements of a good blog have application over a wide variety of different types of businesses, and are excited about having different companies involved in sponsoring the event.
Hi John, Thanks for your comment. The Seminar will be held at GRAR, but is open to non-members as well. We're excited to have Sara Bonert, Industry Relationship Manager for Zillow participate in this unique forum as well. Agents in the real estate industry need to have a better grasp of the new technologies which are dramatically altering the methods and practises which will be necessary to understand in the future.
Good luck, Lola. Looks like a good session. I taught an Intro to Blogging class in my local board a month or so ago, and will be teaching the Intro class AND an Intermediate one to another board here in San Diego next month. Plus I am schedule to teach the Intro class in the neighboring county early next year and WE don't have to worry about snow! ; ) So the word is getting out - folks in the know are getting on the blogging wagon.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to touch base with you regarding your experience with the Intro Blogging class at your local Board. There is a real need for information about Blogging. Then, there are a lot of people who truly don't understand the process...Blogging has had a tremendous impact on me professionally.
This seminar will prove to be as rewarding as the one in April, I'm sure (except without the blizzard). I can't wait to go and expand my horizons even more.
I did not know there were seminars on blogging. Sounds very informative. I am going to have to do some research and see if there are any blogging seminars in Houston, TX
If this was anything like your first blogging seminar it's sure to be a hit with the real estate community!! THANK YOU LOLA!! I'm salivating in anticipation!!
Oh and Mike Mueller was wondering about the Costco sponsorship. We are very greatful to have Costco as an event sponsor as they are providing a continental breakfast to feed at least 100 attendees at both the October 25th and November 7th blogging seminars in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Costco was thrilled with the blogging seminar idea, very proactive, helpful and giving. A great sponsor to have!! Way to think outside the box Costco!!!
EXCELLENT idea! I wish you were in the area to attend. I wonder if it will get to a point when Realtors will get crdits for taking a relative course such as this. Great stuff...and obviously becoming very needed in this day and age.
I didn't know there was such a thing as a blogging seminar either. I going to ask my Board if they will do one and I will look for classes around the area. What a great idea!
Will you please send this information to Brandee@flinthomes.net and Andrea@Flinthomes.net . They are with the Flint Area Assocation of Realtors, MI. You may be able to put a class on there.
Also, Flint Chapter Women's Council of Realtors, MI, would welcome you. Please send email to StephanieH@usol.com . I am sure the Grand Rapids Women's Council of Realtors may want this too, Mary Mishler Mary@MLMRealtyllc.com
Good Luck and I hope too see you in Flint soon!!!
You are welcome to refer to me when emailing or speaking to these people.
Thanks Angie, I've forwarded an e-mail to Stephanie with the information she requested. I'd sent an earlier e-mail, but perhaps it was not received as we have had some trouble with the e-mail servers at GRAR. I truly appreciate your follow-up.
I am so excited to bring this type of education to our membership. Have you found many x'ers and y's attending>? We (as an association) are trying to find out what X'ers and Y's want from an association.
I am already set up to do a seminar next month. I have had a lot of requests here in my location for me to provide one- it is amazing how many people do not even know what a blog is!
Angie, It was a wide range of ages that attended this seminar. We had individuals in their 20's and 30's up to the 60's. It was neat to see how this type of information provides "a meeting place" for the generations!
