Southern Pines Reservoir Park
Southern Pines, NC 28387

The weather was perfect this past weekend for spending time outside!  We chose to spend a couple of hours at Southern Pines Reservoir Park

I've always enjoyed the walking trail around the lake and Basil and Bree Bree love it, too!

Southern Pines Reservoir Park is a 165 acre park with a 95 acre lake.  There are two covered picnic shelters with BBQ grills and picnic tables available.  Activities that can be enjoyed at Southern Pines Reservoir Park are hiking/walking 2 miles worth of trails, boating, fishing, biking and NOW DISC GOLF

The Disc Golf Course officially opened this Spring and it's already a big hit with the locals.  There were lots of folks playing the course this weekend.  If you don't have your own set of Discs, then you can check-out a set (for free) at the Campbell House, located at 482 E. Connecticut Ave. If you've never played Disc Golf...give it a try...you might like it!  It's fun for all ages and it's FREE!

Hi Denise, what a beautiful park and I can see that Basil and Bree Bree loved it as well.  What a beautiful way to get some exercise and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the same time.  Have a great day!

Hi Judy, I had became acquainted with Disc Golf a couple years ago and I was going to write a post about it since I had never heard of it before. Now that I think back, I never wrote that post. It is a cool game and they occasionally have championship matches here in San Diego. When I hear about the next one , I will do my photography thing and write that story. Thanks for reminding me about this. From what people have said, it sounds like a lot of fun  but also requires a pretty skill set.

You are good at photography. Could I make a suggestion. Make your photos bigger. They are so nice they deserve to much larger. :-)

William - Disc Golf hasn't been that popular around these parts, because we have sooooo many golf courses in our area...ya know, the ones that require a club & a little white ball!  Anyway, it does take alot of skill, especially on this particular Reservoir Park course.....there are soooo many trees!!!

Thanks for the suggestion on the pics.  I didn't make them larger, because I thought it would be 'too in your face'....but, maybe I was wrong....I will take your suggestion and make them larger from now on.  Thanks again!
