Just a reminder that tomorrow is the Consolidated General Election for much of Illinois. The polls will be open from 6am until 7pm so get out there and vote. There are a few important issues up on the ballot tomorrow - the first is somewhat related to real estate in Kane County and regards the Kane County Forest Preserve requesting permission to issue $30 million in general obligation bonds to purchase new open space and for maintenence of existing properties. Another big issue is the Yorkville City Bike Trail Bond Issue that is asking for permission to issue $1 million in bonds for construction of bike paths in the municipality. Yet another measure also in Yorkville is a request by the city to raise sales tax 1% to 8.25% which will likely be used to pay bonds issued for sewer repairs several years ago.

Also on the April 5th ballot, Illinois residents will have the opportunity to elect members of the school board in the districts where they reside. This is very important as these board members often play a big role in shaping the direction of education in your district. Please take the time and get to know the candidates in your area.
