Living on the coast, we deal with a lot of Mother Nature's tricks. But, we all love it here...and, keep building!
I never knew about the flooding problem along the Red River up there until a client of mine from Winnipeg mentioned it.
And I also always thought the Red River was the river between Texas and Oklahoma!
Now I have learned that one is called The Red River of the North and the other is called The Red River of the South.
Good Mornig Sharon, I was not aware of the potential flooding.
The Red River is one of a very few rivers in the word that flow North. Most rivers flow South, as the water originates from melting mountains. The problem created by our Mighty Red is directly attributed to ice dams. Where it wants to go - there is no flow.
Well, that and the flat land.
