The Kansas Department of Agriculture released the Kansas Crop Progress and Condition Report

Dry conditions continued in Kansas with high winds and still a lack of moisture in many sections of the state.  The dry and windy conditions have caused burn bans to be issued in some counties.  A fire in Haskell County Kansas earlier this week caused a small rural town to be evacuated.  Some rain hit Eastern parts of the state but it was short lived and came with hail and strong winds.

The winter wheat is 22% jointed and winterkill has been 15% or less. Corn planting is just starting mostly in the southern half of the state.
