I find it interesting, in this particular environment, when developers want to extend their development rights, and the NIMBY camp speaks up, as in this case.
I'm not for or against either side of this debate, rather, just posting to bring attention to the comment in the article that called out to me: "Ponte Vedra has changed since 2001", and ergo, the developers need to change to meet the current "Ponte Vedra".
Jacksonville Beach has had much more volatile development, with the city voting in a 35 foot building limit that was challenged by several condo developers; some are/were permitted to build more than the 35 foot height, depending where they were in the permitting process.
I'll be curious to see how this turns out, it's a fairly visible and profitable corridor.
