Kentucky Farm living through the eyes of a child!

By
Real Estate Agent with Maverick Realty

Down at The farmLife can be a funny thing.

I have always considered myself a "city girl."  I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would ever live on a farm.  And, a proposed blueberry farm was never even a remote thought!

Yes, life can be a funny thing and I am living on a farm!  It is not far from our home in a neighborhood, which I will be putting up for sale in the next day or so.

Living on or near a beach, now that I have imagined and dreamed about most of my life.

My grand son has a whole different perspective and to him the farm is all he thinks about and he truly loves it!  He sings songs about tractors and farms!  He loves the gator and thinks that all there is in life is riding the tractor and going to The Farm!

Through the eyes of a child I am learning that life is about the simple things!

I’m very much a city boy, but unlike you, I will never be living on a farm. The suburbs are about as far away from the city as I care to get. J♪♫♫♪

Hi Jim~  I have to tell you that when we bought the 150 acre farm a few short years ago, I said I would never live there!  It's funny how things work out sometimes!

Vicky,

Welcome to farm life!!!  We have a "Ranger" instead of a "Gator".. just different brands and different colors.. green tractor, red tractor, yellow tractor, and blue tractor.. life is busy and feels very full.  A blueberry farm sounds very exciting.. will you be marketing blueberries.. the only thing that I know about blueberries is that I have difficulty growing them because they require acidic soil.

Vicki - We always think it is about the beach or the mountains until we are involved with children.  Suddenly those ideas become secondary as the children in our lives bring us the most joy.  For me I love aspects of every place I have been for their specific differences.  Being a father of two girls and happily married, I could be on Mars with them and be thrilled.  In the end it really is about the company you keep not the place you live because people will love you back.

You should encourage him to be a farmer when he grows up, because we are going to need them by then.  There are not enough farmers anymore!

Vickie,

How is life on the farm?   Most of my life was on a farm. I grew up in North Idaho on a farm and then raised my children on a small organic farm near Seattle.  I moved hear to be near grandchildren and for the first time in my life have lived in the city.  I do still make time though to help an organic farmer from my church.  I also list farmland and have a lot of fun marketing what I passionately believe in.  I hope the farm brings you years of great satisfaction and blessing.

Well you must really be involved in the new farm and all that entails.  Good luck with everything and enjoy the time with your family.
