Are Short Sales Getting Any Easier For Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch & Venice Florida Homeowners Facing Foreclosure?
With upwards of 40% of Sarasota and Manatee County Florida houses having mortgage balances greater than their underlying market values, there is no question that Short Sales and Expert Short Sale Agents are (and will continue to be for the foreseeable future) in high demand.
Being heavily involved with Short Sales for several years now, and with Short Sales comprising more than 90% of the transactions I'm working on at any given time, I can say with some confidence that I have my "finger is on the pulse" of what's happening vis-a-vis the Florida real estate market and Short Sales.
That being the case, the question often arises as to whether, or not Short Sales are "getting any easier." The good news is that in many instances I'm finding that they are. Outside of the mega-global financial vampires that still seem to be accountable to neither moral decency, nor the rule of law (Bank of America stands out as singularly corrupt and inept -- a particularly despicable enterprise, but there are others) smaller, more regionally focused banks do seem to be getting their collective acts together somewhat.
While anyone unfortunate enough to have a loan from one of the large, uber-corrupt financial institutions can still expect Short Sale Approvals to take from 6-16 months to play out, I am finding approval averages dropping from six months, to 4-5 months in many cases. Of course, this assumes a perfectly prepared Short Sale Package and relentless follow-up on the part of whomever is handling the Short Sale on behalf of the homeowner.
One thing is for sure -- if you are facing foreclosure and you fail to take proactive steps to do something about it, the banks will do all in their power to destroy you financially, and they will use all means possible, BOTH legal and illegal to do it.
