We returned last night from our kick off RainCamp of 2011. Literally took a train to a plane to an automobile to get home….and it was fantastic! Except of course our little delay due to Mr. Obama flying in to Philly real quick.
RainCamp is the best aspect of my job. I was able to hug so many familiar faces and connect with a bunch of new ones. I laughed, cried and left feeling amazing about this Community we work so hard each day to maintain.
The 2 day event was jam packed of exciting information. A ton of new information was taught that had never been presented before. I truly enjoyed the little breakout sessions. Nobody at RainCamp was in it just for themselves. As ActiveRain is known for, the attendees shared their wisdom, goals, mistakes and triumphs with one another. A woman was worried about incorporating her volunteer efforts with her blogging; she didn't want to give off the wrong impression of asking for donations or what not. Our group pushed her to go for it and not be scared of what anyone thinks and just be herself and do her thing. She came up to me later and thanked us for talking about it….she said it was great to have her peers give their honest opinions. Another member got a listing appointment while we were there from her Vertical Marketing efforts. A special member of ours who has been having a tough time with some really big life changing events that happened recently was there. She made me cry. She lost a very dear person to her 3 weeks ago and while at the hospital for 6 weeks prior, she would throw herself into the 'Rain. The comments, emails and phone calls from this AMAZING COMMUNITY helped her out of her dark hours. She found solace from you guys….you made a difference in her life and you may not even know you did it.
Caesars was fun….took about $50 of my hard earned cash but what do you expect from the slots? Shared a fantastic bucket of lobster, crab, mussels, clams and shrimp with some great people too. Our flight didn't leave until after 3pm on Wednesday so the Kellys and I got to go down to the beautiful Atlantic ocean and do a bit of shopping. No tax AC?!?!? If only I had known sooner!! I left with some great treasures including a super cute big black beach hat that will come in handy next week in Mexico. Arrrriiiiibbbbaaaaa!!!
I'd like to thank everyone for taking time out of their busy schedules and attending RainCamp Atlantic City….you all ROCK and I can't wait to see you again!
Kerrie, Sounds like you had a great time. Sorry I could not make it. Nice that you got to see the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic City!
Gloria
So glad you guys had a wonderful time at RainCamp AC... and that you made it home safely.
By the way, if you ammortize all those free drinks you had while losing a paltry $50.00, it comes out that they paid you to drink!
Glad you had fun and came away with a new hat, new friends and new outlook about Active Rain folks.

You know... I don't think I'm going to wait for RainCamp to come back to ATL. I think I'm going to just pick one.... and ride some of those planes, trains or automobiles.
Kerrie - I loved getting to know you over the 2 days of Rain Camp - you are as sweet and nice as a person could be. You did a fantasic job interviewing the expert blogging panel and made everyone feel comfortable. For anyone reading these comments, I was the person she is talking about losing a love one 3 weeks ago. Kerrie listened to me with tears, remembering I had blogged about my story which amazed me with all the blogs she reads.
Kerrie you are a wonderful woman and I applaud you for your professionalism, kindness, and warmth to all the members who came to Active Rain - you did an outstanding job. Look for my next post - I had to say a little about you as well.
Gloria - It was a great time had by all!
Craig - You were missed....see you in Chicago!
Ceil - It was a win, win, win!
Tammy - Do it girlfriend!
Kristine - You have moved me more than you know. I believe what you said about there being no coincidences....you and I met for a reason. xoxo
I just posted my blog with a link back to yours - check it out! I've been thinking about you ever since I left RainCamp and sending you positive and happy vibes - you are an extraordinary woman and you really touched me in ways you will never know!
Oh Kerrie, another great time, and camp was good as well. As for life's coincidences, I am a strong believer that people do not meet by accident. In the grand scheme of life everyone we touch is there for a reason.
You, Miss Kerrie, are a sweetie...just wanted you to know that ;) I"m SO excited to go to Raincamp this year. 2 days will be amazing! Have a great weekend you amazing thing you!
Hi Kerri, From all reports , everyone really liked the 2 day format. I can tell you are in your element in meeting the members and being the face of AR. And what a wonderful face that is. Great photo of the Jersey Shore. Well done!
Hi Kerrie... having attended two RainCamps so far, I know why you would feel that it's the best part of your job! I can't believe you chose Mexico over coming to visit me!
Kerrie, just a small request...there are many ActivePeeps in Boston - and you should have at least one RainCamp in Boston area. (Bill, Barbara should support me...)
Hi Kerrie - Atlantic City is a beautiful city to have a RainCamp. Wish I could have been there.
Hey Kerrie, you escaped relatively unscathed if you only lost 50. hope you are doing rain camp again in Atlanta or some where close by
Sounds like you do indeed have a great job!!! Atlantic City is one town I have never visited but am glad you enjoyed it! I think the best part of Atlantic City is probably being on the ocean.
Early September is the best time to be in AC beach-wise !!!! It's also the start of post beach season rates.
You have been *FEATURED* in today's Tuesday Travelogue! Thank you for your localism post!
Hi Kerrie, I hope that you are enjoying your time with the family. I think we are all looking forward to that next raincamp in Wisconsin.
