Bark to the Park is one of Pawmetto Lifeline's largest fundraising efforts that directly benefits its mission of granting life to homeless pets in the Midlands. Join an expected crowd over 3,500 people. The event will kick off with a one mile fun walk for people and their pets followed by a festival accompanied with statewide vendors, canine contests, a $20 Micro-chipping clinic, entertainment by K9s in Flight, flyball demonstrations, food and lots of fun. Indie Grits Film Festival: Nickelodeon Theatre

The fifth annual Indie Grits Film Festival, a juried film competition, will take place at several venues in downtown Columbia. In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Indie Grits, the festival will feature several new exciting events, including famed filmmaker Helen Hill’s final work, “The Florestine Dresses.” Hill, a native of Columbia, was making this film when she was killed in her home in New Orleans in 2006. Hill’s husband, Paul Gailiunas, has been working to finish the film for several years, and the film will debut at Indie Grits. In addition to a slate of experimental, feature-length, short and feature-length films, this year’s Indie Grits will also feature food and craft events. Find details here.
