On Monday my wife and I took our daughter to Memphis to see a endocrine specialist. The weather was terrible and we saw some electric and telephone lines down close to the office in Memphis. This could explain some down time trying to call someone.
We completed our appointment but 2 days later needed to get a message to the doctor. We faxed in our request because you cannot talk to a live person.
Two days went by and we still didn't hear from the doctor. Again I picked up the phone to call them but after listening to a bunch of garbage(like if this is a medical emergency go to the nearest emergency room) I finally got to leave a message.
This has been going on up until right now. The doctor had someone there call us back and get us squared away with the prescription.
The storm prevented my first fax from reaching the doctor but did not prevent them from responding to messages I left on their voicemail and also e-mails.
At lunch today my wife asked me if I ran my business like that. I assured her that I do not. When that phone rings I answer it, when that e-mail comes in I answer it and when that text comes in again I answer it. Unless I am asleep I respond immediately like my life depends on it. I am glad my daughters' life did not depend on them answering because I would have had to go to the emergency room like the recording said.
What about you, do you run your business like that doctor? Do you respond to phone calls, faxes, e-mails and texts in a timely manner? Here in Dyersburg,Tennessee, if I ran my business like that I would not be in business for long.
