24 Comments on X-Ray Vision Not Needed For A New Construction Home Inspection
Jay is amazing. I finally had the pleasure to meet him in person this week at RainCamp. What a sweetie. You are so lucky to have him in your market.
Gwen-watching a new home go up is an education.
Tish-I'm glad to have gotten to know Jay via Active Rain and be able to recommend him to my clients.
Shannon-that's another good idea.
Lou-helping clients understand they have options with new construction can save them headaches later.
Debbie-a sharp set of eyes as to what is going on with a home before the walls go up is a must. Jay obviously has them.
Home inspections on new construction are a must! The builder uses subs and no one really knows how good those subs are. Having Jay do the inspections is the best thing but you already know that!
Cindy....great information and it shows people read your blog....you do a great job!
Hope you have a great day!---Rob
Did you say Jay found that the toliet flange in the lower level was installed backwards? Wonder if the construction supervisor would have found that?
I wish Jay was down here in the Tampa Bay Area! He is certainly one of the best inspectors in the nation!
Jackie-you are so right. A builder might have a great reputation but if the subs they have on a particular job don't know what they are doing the outcome for your home could be completely different than what you had hoped for.
Rob-they read mine and I sent them to Jay's to read his as well.
Pat-yes they could have had a toliet debacle if Jay hadn't taken care of it.
Barbara Jo-he is on the top of my list!
I'm looking forward to using Jay very, very soon ;-)
Justin-AR locals can keep him fully booked!
We could use Jay here. Our inspections sometimes get overlooked and have to be corrected after construction.
Thanks Cindy! It was great seeing you again, and Linda and David were delightful. I thought the house was in good shape, except for the insulation installation. I don't know what they intend to do about that. But overall, not bad!
Kay-it would be nice to clone Jay.
Jay-the inspector noticed the issue with the insulation. He called the insulation contractor and had him scheduled to be back out that afternoon. I believe David was going back out to check again before they hung the drywall. Hope to see you again soon.
