Hint: You might feel well protected here...this is a hint because this pond is right next to the Tualatin police station!

I've lived in Tualatin and the area for years and never knew this little area existed! Of course, I really don't frequent the police department (thank God) which is how I found this when using the parking lot to turn around. I saw several people coming from a trail area and decided to take a look around and see what was there. To my lovely surprise, it was the Sweek Pond Natural Area. Walking partway through the trail (had my heels on..or would have checked the entire trail out) It was a very quiet and serene place to walk. 

According to the sign there, Sweek Pond is not an original wet land, but was created to store irrigation water for the neighboring farmlands. Now years later natural wildlife has taken over and is a great place to enjoy a nice walk or to just take pictures of the pond denizens.
