San Antonio real estate investing, just as investing in any financial activity, has risks and rewards. From personal experience investing, I have had stock and bond investments, both good and sometimes not so good. I just wish I knew then what I now know about real estate investing.
Don't get me wrong, real estate investments can turn brown too. But I now have a better appreciation of what it takes to get better control and to reduce risks on real estate transactions.
There are lots of strategies an investor can take in real estate deals. Let's just review what I believe are the three keys for residential rental property investments.
1. Know the neighborhood before you buy, and don't overpay.
2. Do as good a good of approving your tenants as legally allowable. Do not scrimp on this step. It costs more to evict than it does to conduct proper background checks.
3. Treat your tenants right. Be responsive to health and safety issues, and show up at the property from time-to-time, and not just when it's time to collect the rent.
I've had the listing, shown below, for a couple of months and have focused on selling to a family. It is in an area where there is a healthy rental market too. So, marketing it as an investment property too.
