Let's Meet for Cup of Tea & Discuss the Budget

 

Having grown up in a family that could sit down over cup of coffee/tea and hash out our differences, I find it so incomprehensible that our elected officials in Washington can't do the same.   I will even supply the tea. 

 

Which flavor should I buy? Tea

 

Oh, I was just informed that there is 'No room for compromise.' 

If the entire country does not agree, then 'Tough.  We will shut down the entire country until we get our way.' 

 

This does not sound like the democracy I grew up with. 

 

I also learned how to compromise in our family of six.  No one got their way all the time.  As kids we did our share of squabbling, but today we love to get together as a family.  We respect each other's viewpoint and choices without expecting total agreement. 

How can we get our elected officials to work together for the good of everyone?

Love it Patricia,  It might loosen them up a bit.  I agree with your last statement.  I am not happy with anyone either and my husband said the same thing Friday evening.
