13 Comments on April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals--Day Five of my Daily Blog for April
Gayle every day should be prevention to cruelty to animals. Summer is a lovely horse.
Maria, I 2nd that comment!
every day should be prevention to cruelty to animals
And this is the very reason why I'm doing this everyday for the rest of this month, to remind others....because animals are so forgiving, non-judgemental and uncondtional in their love, lessons that we humans need to heed.
I love animal rescues Gayle and horse rescues are among the best out there. Cute foal.
I'll let you stay in a beautiful Victorian B & B if you'll let me stay in your barn :) AND nuzzle Summer . . . oh, yeah, and fish . . . thank you for your gentle spirit . . . your beautiful pictures help me to take a deep breath . . .
Gary, sometimes it's too hard for me to look at these....(animal rescues)
Mimi, you gave me goose bumps with your last comment about taking a deep breath--I count my lucky stars (God and my husband, too!) for all the blessings that I have!!!
See - it's God and my husband that are such a huge part of my blessings . . . and people like you on AR that make it better :)
Think good thoughts Gayle. Every animal rescued or who lives at one of those no kill shelters is in good shape. Kind of like throwing those starfish back into the ocean for all the ones beached. It's important to THAT ONE that is saved. It is all GOOD!!!
Gayle - Many animals cannot defend themselves. You did a noble act saving a innocent beautiful foal. Thanks for sharing it.
John, I didn't save this foal, although I would've LOVED TO. No, it was an e-mail received from the ASPCA that told me about this foal who was born safely as a result of them rescuing Arkansas horses from a horse trader who was obviously abusing/neglecting these horses.
I have focused every day on some way to prevent cruelty to animals. Thanks to you, John and others, people are paying attention to their plight.
Gayle - you are to be applauded on making people aware of the abuse animals suffer at the hands of humans and it's all too common! I make a monthly donation to my local animal shelter where I adopted my dog, Lucy! I've watched enough animal planet to see these atrocities up close and personal and the best way to help these poor animals is to get the word out - great post and I will be checking in daily!
Thanks, Kristine and how WONDERFUL that you give on a REGULAR BASIS to your local shelter--you are a heroine!!!
"I love Lucy", give her a hug for me!
Hi Gayle, I'm glad you are doing your post a day on so many animal rescue related issues. The pictures you are attachign are so cute....of course I pick the horse one to comment on. lol. The foal is just darling. I look forward to seeing Summer once she has shed her winter coat..... She is a very pretty horse.
Sondra, Miss Summer is shedding like CRAZY! She has a brindle coloring to her. I am SO LUCKY that she is the first horse I've ever had.
You can comment on whatever you like--it's always a treat hearing from you.
