I hate to be a party pooper but I am actually not at all happy with the new pricing system, even though it does not affect me.
1) For one thing, I am just not convinced that $60 per month is a reasonable price to pay for this service. I would never have joined if that was the monthly cost for me, and I will say I think many potential new members will be deterred by the price. For those who are budget conscious, $60 per month is a lot. THAT'S $720 PER YEAR!! I don't even pay that much for my car insurance!
2) After all the talk about points not being a big deal, they suddenly are. No, let's not make anybody feel like they are failing because they don't have the points. If I was a new person, at the pace I am going I would not make it to 100,000 points for 2 - 3 years! Who is going to pay $60 per month for that long?
3) The new system may have been designed with the idea to give people more of an incentive to blog, but it really just pushes out the little guy (or woman). Some people want to "make it" on the leaderboard, but struggle with writing. Some of us just don't have as much to say, struggle with finding topics to write about, or don't have a lot of spare time. And some of us are not realtors and so don't have the opportunity to put up twenty posts per day that are all listings. This system new automatically favors the realtors who have those listings to post and can accumulate points faster, people who have lots of time to write or for whom the words flow more easily.
Just my opinion.
