Here is a list of my Top 10 Tips for BPO Agents & Brokers for 2011:

 1. Continually strive to advance your business knowledge by seeking appropriate continuing education.

 2. Automate as many repetitive daily tasks as possible, i.e. data entry for BPO forms, logging into frequently used websites, logging into website looking for unaccepted BPO orders to snag and don't forget automating your traditional sales contracts. These are but a few examples.

 3. Systemize your business by figuring out which programs or systems you should incorporate into your day-to-day business practices, i.e. software, tech tools are but a few examples.

 4. Delegate as many tasks as possible to others that you can so that you can focus on managing. Move into a management role where you are overseeing tasks where your assistant(s) or teammate(s) do tasks for you because your time is better spent doing other important things. It's better to 'work on your business, than in your business!'

 5. Do your research! Don't continue to work for companies that don't pay well, quick enough or ones that don't give you enough consistent work. There are tools out that will help you figure out which companies have the most volume in your local area. If you don't know, just ask me!

 6. Obtain the appropriate certifications that you see companies asking for that you work for. You don't need to get them all or spend lots of money here, research the forums and blogs to find out which specific certifications are paying off for people and ones that have provided a good return on investment. Remember to not put too much money into your BPO business until you start earning money from it!

 7. Attend at least one REO conference this year so that you can attend certification and industry specific education classes as well as align yourself with networking opportunities that will help you with your business.

 8. Spend more time focusing on your business then wasting time paying too much attention to your competitors.

 9. Look for ways to grow and expand your BPO business when the time is right. 'Work Smarter, Not Harder!'

 10. Consider paying for access to various portals such as: Res.net, Equator and DispoSolutions to name a few. Don't forget to sign up for REONetwork.com's free profile option too!

I'd love to hear about how you make things work for you, I'm sure others would love to hear about it! What are your thoughts?

Good top 10 comments Nicole, I have the REO certification but I need to focus more on learning the ropes and getting out there.

With gas prices escalating and relatively low pay for the amount of work required, BPO's are becoming less attractive to perform. Nicole.

Donald, the best way to find out about non-paying companies is to read through the various BPO forums online.

Great way to cut down on gasoline expenses: buy a Geo Metro! Mine gets 40 mpg and it cut my driving expenses in half.
