RE/MAX and the Philadelphia Phillies
Not for nothing, but how cool is it to go to the world's best baseball team's ballpark and see your company's branding on the scoreboard ? I think it is awesome. If you have not seen it yet, go to a Phillies game ! Or watch a game on TV.
Last week I got a call from RE/MAX International saying they had 4 tickets for the Phillies game so my partner and I decided to bring a recruit from a different company. He was brought into the RE/MAX box. Not to butter up RE/MAX because I own a RE/MAX franchise company, but I do not see any of our local competitors doing any sort of branding with the Philadelphia Phillies or Philadelphia Eagles. Or having any presence on billboards or national advertising on television.
And even worse, those companies are not making it up online either as RE/MAX.com still remains the dominant force by far in terms of traffic over Keller Williams, Prudential, Coldwell Banker and Century 21. For example, the graph below (using Compete.com shows RE/MAX getting 1,372,681 unique visitors for February 2011 versus 394,014 for Keller Williams and 765,510 for Coldwell Banker. (Century 21 had 959,000 and could not find a national Prudential real estate site to use).
It feels good to have that powerful brand behind you. The clients certainly pick up on it as well. The 2010 real estate numbers show it for RE/MAX agents. AND it is nice to know that the Phillies tickets will be available throughout the year !! After all, who doesn't appreciate the best baseball team and some wining and dining at the same time ?
Is your company branding themselves similar to what RE/MAX is doing both locally and nationally ?

Maybe we will take you to a Phillies game as well !
