Kodak Playsport - the waterproof video solution

So after the Keller Williams Mega Camp last week, several folks were asking me about the Kodak Waterproof Video Camera.  Apparently, it's a little difficult to shoot video when it's raining without worrying about the camera...

So..what's the solution to that?  Well, it's one of our finest full HD 1080p compact pocket video cameras, the Kodak Playsport.  I thought I'd take this post to tell you a little more about it - it might be an ideal solution for those of you who need a great video camera for your real estate marketing, but want something you can also take to the beach, on a hike, or hang out in the pool with the kids.

Playsport is 10 ft waterproof.  shoots in full 1080p HD, has image stabilization, comes with onboard video editing software, and features a 5.3 MP still camera as well.

Playsport was designed for rugged use and of course is ideal for shooting video in the rain.  It also has an LCD Glare Guard which helps you shoot in bright light or sunshine as well.

I recently got a Playsport and it's a ton of fun to take to the beach (hey, summer's not so far away!)  It does come with the Kodak Arcsoft Media Impression software as well (see my walkthru tutorial on our YOUTUBE CHANNEL .

Now, the only downside of PlaySport is that unlike our Playtouch and Zi8 Video cameras, it does not have an external mic jack, you have to rely on the built-in mic.  So this means your sound on your videos is going to be somewhat compromised.  It's still pretty good, but as we've discussed in other blogs, for a marketing video you don't want your viewers hearing background noise etc.

So I would suggest that if you are using this camera to take video,  take advantage of the Arcsoft software and overdub (that means record audio) over your video - which is simple to do.
